     8/26 Announcements  


    Technology forms and fees can now only be turned in to Ms. Johnson during lunch or after school.  Anyone who has turned in their form and not received their technology green card needs to see Ms. Johnson as soon as possible either during lunch or after school.

    Attention Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors: Picture day will be held Wednesday, August 31st in the auditorium. You will be called down alphabetically by class. You should have received an order form after your class meeting. There are extra forms in the main office and in room A-110

    You must purchase a parking tag in order to park on the SPHS campus.  You will need to see Ms. Lowder in the Main Office before school, after school or during your lunch to purchase one.   You will need to complete the Alive @ 25 class, and you will need to have your driver’s license and car registration along with $20 to purchase the tag.  Beginning Monday if you park without a tag, you may get ticketed.

    Make-up school will be held in the Media Center tomorrow from 8am to 4pm.  Please be sure bring something constructive to do and money for lunch or snacks. If you have any concerns or questions please stop by Attendance. Thanks Ms. Hunt

    Chick fil A sales start this coming Monday. Sandwiches will be sold at all three lunches for $3.

    Monday kicks off our third annual Throwdown Crosstown with Rock Hill High.  Throwdown is a weeklong spirit competition at the Dave Lyle Chick-fil-a to see which school has the most spirit and support. The school with the highest receipt total will win 10% of their receipts.  Word on the street is that Rock Hill High wants to win the trophy. Show your Stallion spirit and eat at Chick-fil-a and be sure to put your receipt in the Stallion box. Sales on Monday count as well as our Spirit Night on Tuesday.  Let’s eat to keep the trophy at South Pointe.

    Tuesday night is Stallion spirit night at Chick dil a. Come out and show your school spirit and help keep the Throwdown trophy at South Pointe. The winner will be announced at Friday night's game vs. Rock Hill.  Eat more chicken!!!


    We will be hosting our 1st SAT/ACT workshop of the school year on Tuesday, September 20th. The cost of the workshop is $30 and will be held at South Pointe, during the school day. This workshop is open to juniors or seniors who are planning to take either the SAT or ACT this fall. If you would like to sign up please see Mrs. Runyans in the guidance office.


    Model UN will meet Tuesday in Mrs. Keller’s room A113 at 7:45, if you are interested in joining, grab an interest form!

    Are you interested in photography, art, advertising or fashion?  Stop by Mr. Johnson's room, A-120, to get information on South Pointe's Photography Club.

    Attention returning Beta Club members:  If you would like to return as a Beta club member, please see Mr. Howle in A209 to pay for your $5 returning member fees.

    Are you interested in embracing other cultures? If you think all people deserve to be treated equally and that differences are what make us unique individuals then consider joining PROGENY, the Diversity Club at South Pointe. The joining fee is $15 for new members and $5 for rejoining. We are looking for new members, so if you are interested, there will be an interest meeting on Wednesday, August 31 in Mrs. Dawson’s room A-213. The meeting will last from 3:45 to 4:30.

    Interested in engineering and robotics? Would you like to compete in USC's Pumpkin-Chunkin contest?  Please see Mr. Johnson in A-120 for more information about South Pointe's Engineering and Robotics Club.

    Congrats to the ninth grade football team defeating Nation Ford 62-12. Scoring for the stallion were: Ron Aldridge with 1 touchdown and two tow point conversions. Raseac Myles a punt turn for touch down, quay chambers two touch downs and one two point conversion, kobe Shannon one touchdown, josh McClure one touch down, and david crockett two touchdown. The SPHS girls tennis team lost to Northwestern with a score of 3-4. The score was tied 3-3 going into the number one doubles match, which elle gilleland and josie dierell played well. The next match wil be at home on Monday against Rock Hill. Another congrats to Adam McKay and Lucy Cassidy for being named swimmer of the week at their meet last night and the stallion swim team defeating Richland Northwest! Tonight the Varsity football team will play home at 7:30 PM and the theme will be construction. We hope to see you there.  GO STALLIONS!
