    For the week of March 13th, South Pointe would like to congratulate the following individuals for their continued exhibition of our I.C.E. policies:

    3/23 Announcements 

     

    School:

    Mark April 4 on your calendar for South Pointe's “Super Spring Sports Spectacular” for our spring Crucial Catch. Playing for a Cure t-shirt orders due this Friday, March 24. The cost is $10 a shirt. Forms available in main office, athletic office and admin. A $3 tickets gets you into all the games. Food Trucks and raffles too! Kona Ice truck will be on site as well. Chappell's Snack Shack will be at the “Super Spring Sports Spectacular” serving all kinds of food. A $3 ticket gets you into all the sporting events. Remember that this is our Spring Crucial Catch event as well…wear pink or better yet purchase your $10 shirt by this Friday. Help the cause and support Playing for a Cure.

     

    This year, prom will be held on Saturday, April 22. If you plan on bringing a date that does not attend South Pointe, see Kay Runyans to pick up an outside guest form. These will be approved by April 7. Make sure to follow @SPPROM2017 on Twitter for prom updates!

    *Remember, you cannot attend prom if you have outstanding fees or fines. This includes fines from the library, athletics, and temporary ID’s. In order to check your fee status, see Anthony Thomas.


    Would you like to win money for your talents? If so, you should enter South Pointe's annual "Hollywood Lights” poetry slam! This slam will be held tonight at 5 p.m. in the library. It will cost $3 at the door, and is free for participants!

    Do you have real skills when it comes to creating videos or memes? Would you like the chance to win up to $5,000? If so, then you should consider participating in this year's, "Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Distracted" video and Meme/GIF contest! The rules and requirements for this contest are posted on the wall outside of A-124. Please see Susan Fields if you have any questions!

    Ana Howell needs volunteers and cheerleaders to join her class for the Special Olympics on April 7, if you are in a volunteer organization and need service hours, stop by her room, A-134 for details.

     

    Seniors/Scholarship:

    Seniors, don’t forget to get your On Pointe Honor cord application for graduation! They will be accepted after spring break! You can find them outside room A-114 with April Bates and in A-209 with Chris Howle.

     

    Sports:
    The Lady Stallions softball team defeated the rival Northwestern Trojans for the first time in school history last night. The Stallions were led by senior sensations Kamryn Culp, Mercedes Howze, and Stevie Herd. Way to go ladies, Stallion Nation salutes you!

     

    Tonight the boys’ varsity golf will compete at 4 p.m. Boys’ varsity tennis will face off against Westwood High School at 5 p.m., and boys’ and girls’ track will compete with York at 5 p.m.  Good luck to all of our Stallion athletes!

     

    Club:

    Yearbooks are nearly gone and selling fast! You can get an order form from A-110 or in the cafeteria. Yearbooks are $80 and payment plans are available. See Jessica Kramer in room A-110 if you have any questions. Hurry, you won't want to miss out on this year's Equestrian!
